Welcome to Voices from the Mills

Voices from the Mills is a project which was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to find and pay tribute to the men and women who spent their working lives in Bolton's numerous cotton mills between 1939 and 1989.

The memories of these mill workers reminds us of the rich contribution they made to Bolton's social and economic history at a time when industry flourished and 'cotton was king'. They are recorded here for posterity...
